Losing motivation is one of the most common ways people fall out of their workout routine. As a Portland personal trainer this is one reason some of our clients come to us They’re not seeing results as quickly as they had hoped, working out is not as easy as they had thought, or the people they spend their time with don’t exercise, so it’s easy for them to blow it off.  Here are some tips to keep yourself motivated and on track with your goals:

  1. If losing weight was easy, everyone would be thin.  If you’ve been working out regularly and eating right for two weeks, but still aren’t seeing results, keep going! You didn’t gain the weight overnight, and you’re not going to lose it overnight.
  2.  Put together a playlist of songs that pump you up and get you excited.  These are the songs you need to fuel your workout.  When you have a hard time starting or finishing your workout, great music can help push you along.
  3. Reward yourself for working out on a regular basis by purchasing a new workout top.  Retail therapy can do wonders. Reward yourself with something you love by doing something that makes you feel good.
  4. Get a buddy involved.  Not only will it keep you accountable for working out, but it also keeps them accountable.  Knowing that someone is counting on you for motivation will make you think twice about ducking out of a sweat session.
