Portland Personal Trainer: Importance of Strong Abs and Gluteus Muscles

There is a term in the fitness industry that is called Cross Syndrome, which means a tight lower back, tight quadriceps, weak abdominal's and weak gluteus muscles.  The reason it is so important to have a strong abdominal wall & core, and buttocks muscles, is because they will make sure that the lower back region is not only strong, but will keep it from curving too much to cause back pain.  This lower back curvature can become lordosis, which is the lumbar region of your back that is curved more than normal. This can create pack pain, uncomfortable tension in that area, and will cause your abdominal region to protrude out, even though you may not have a gut. By stretching the lower back, stretching the hip flexors (quads) and then strengthening the abdominal wall and buttocks muscles, that curvature should decrease and your back will be better off. If you need help with exercises and stretches to help with this, I would contact a Portland personal trainer to not only tell you about the exercises, but to show you how to do them safely and effectively. The Art of Personal Training by Kisar Dhillon107 SE Washington Street, Suite 137Portland, Oregon 97214(503) 953-0241
