Here are some tips to take into consideration if you have high blood pressure and you want to exercise: 1. Get you physicians approval and ask them what you heart rate range should be.2. Do not lift extremely heavy weight over your head - could create intra-abdominal pressure from breath holding.3. Focus on muscular endurance versus muscular power type of workouts4. When you blood pressure gets under control, ask your physician if you can start doing more power type workouts and if they think it is safe.5. Avoid exercises that require you to have your legs in the air above your heart (leg press, abs with legs up, etc)6. Focus on breathing correctly and use good bio-mechanics.7.  If you are medication for your blood pressure, make sure you are taking it correctly, especially when embarking on a physical fitness program.
