Portland Fitness: You Need To Pay Attention To The Type of Fat & Carbs You Eat

There has always been so many topics, books and fads on what types of fat you should eat and are better for you. According to choosmyplate.gov they recommend that less than 10% of your diet should consist of fats and they should come from vegetable oils, fruits, nuts, vegetables, fish, less red meat (lean), and more plant based protein. Also, the types and quality of the carbohydrates is super important versus just eating a carbohydrates. There has been a lot of research on the types of carbohydrates to ingest and correlating that to cardiovascular disease, versus eating or ingesting a fat/protein type of diet. If you are thinking of going low carbohydrate, I would investigate some of the great research out there, and don't just limit yourself to the popular diet books. If you can read some of the research that is out there or read some books like " The Art and Science Of Low Carbohydrate Living", you may come away with a whole different understanding on how to eat better types of carbohydrates, versus eliminating them completely from your diet. Thanks,Kisar DhillonPersonal TrainerĀ The Art of Personal Training by Kisar Dhillon107 SE Washington Street, Suite 137Portland, Oregon 97214(503) 953-0241
