Portland Fitness: Choose a Personal Trainer That Practices What They Preach

If you are looking for a personal trainer then you need to do your homework. I always tell family and friends who are looking for a trainer is to find someone who not only practices what they preach, but they live and breath it. The last thing you want is a fitness professional who trains you but also has love handles and a stomach from drinking too much beer or cannot control their food intake. I know you are probably saying that is crazy, but believe me, there are plenty of fitness professionals that I have seen lately that are not in shape, are overweight and I feel bad for the individuals who are training with them because they are not being the example that they need to be.If you are looking for a certain look or way of being, it is always a good thing to be speak with someone who has been there, or is already there and they can help you achieve that look, level of definition or fitness level. As a professional personal trainer, maintaining a low level of body fat percentage is challenging, but once you get there , then you know what it takes to maintain it. If for any reason you lose that certain body fat percentage, you already have been there, so with the proper modifications to your diet and fitness routine, then it can come back with a little bit of hard work. After doing your diligent homework, finding the trainer you want to develop a professional relationship with, then you need to look at the level of service you are going to get. If you decide to do a boot camp or small group training, then the level of service you are going to receive will not be as personal, but can effective if you already have a decent fitness base. If you are a novice, then I don't recommend boot camps or group fitness classes, because you need to learn proper form and breathing technique. If you are looking for a specific look, then I highly recommend individualized private personal training. Thanks,Kisar DhillonThe Personal TrainerThe Art of Personal Training by Kisar Dhillon107 SE Washington Street, Suite 137Portland, Oregon 97214(503) 953-0241
