Personal Trainer Portland Oregon | Doing Yard Work | Gardening Safely

Here in Portland, Oregon a lot of us love to get into the yard and plant flowers, clean up our flower beds and just make our landscaping look beautiful. This is also a great way to enjoy a sunny day here in the Northwest, but it is also a great way to relieve stress from your week. One of the biggest things that we will hear in the health and fitness profession is when someone hurts their knee, pulls their lower back or pinches a nerve in their neck. How can we avoid this? One of the ways is to look at what you are placing your knees on, how long you are allowing your neck to protrude forward, and if you have done some stretching for that lower back prior to getting into the yard. In addition, if you love this activity, maybe it is time to really focus on stretching the muscles that are active when weeding, but also strengthen those muscles that are going to be helping you hold a position for a long period of time.If you would like to learn more about what exercises and/or stretches you should perform,  you should contact a local personal trainer Portland Oregon in your area to see what you need to work on. You can never be too healthy, strong and have excellent muscular endurance for any activity, including gardening. Even though it seems like a safe way to spend your weekend, it can also create havoc with your knee joints and both your lower back and neck muscles.Thank You,Kisar DhillonThe Art of Personal Training by Kisar Dhillon107 SE Washington Street, Suite 137Portland, Oregon 97214(503) 953-0241
