Performing Better In The Gym | Get Some Sleep

One of the best fitness tips The Art of Personal Training can give their clients  is to get a good nights sleep. Even if you increase your rest time by one hour, it means it gives your body one extra hour to recuperate from what ever stressors  you have deal with. When you are working out in the gym, taking it to the next level with a workout partner or personal trainer, your body is under good stress, but it also needs to rest.Just because exercise is good for us, it does not mean that we need to do it for many hours and days in a row. There are times when the body needs time to rest, rebuild and get strong. Remember,  you do not grow and get amazing results in the gym, those results happen outside of the gym when we are relaxing, working, taking a nap, sleeping at night or spending time with loved ones. The gym, personal training studio or running outside is the mechanisms that will get us in great shape, but that is just part of the puzzle. When we do not let our bodies rest and support it with good nutrition, all the work that we have done with exercise is not going to pay off.We like to use the example of a wound, if we keep picking at the wound it is not going to heal. The same goes when we work out; if we do not give our muscles, tendons, ligaments and skeletal system time to recover and rebuild for our next training session, then we are going to be victims of the condition called, "over training".The Art of Personal Training by Kisar Dhillon107 SE Washington Street, Suite 137Portland, Oregon 97214(503) 953-0241
